Introduction to Raiding
A Raid is a client engagement delivered by a focused party of RaidGuild builders. Parties form around the problem rather than a fixed company org chart, bringing together the craft, delivery, and client leadership the work requires.
RaidGuild’s work spans Web3, applied AI, design, product strategy, research, infrastructure, and other frontier problems. A Raid may arrive through a specialized Tip of the Spear, but it still draws on the Guild’s shared network, reputation, operating knowledge, and legal rails.
The Party Model
- Cleric — owns the client relationship, helps shape the engagement, and keeps commercial expectations clear.
- Monk — guides delivery, coordinates the party, and keeps scope, milestones, and risks visible.
- Builders — Warriors, Paladins, Wizards, Archers, Rangers, Druids, and other specialists contribute the craft needed for the Raid.
One person may carry more than one role on a small Raid. Make responsibilities and compensation explicit before work begins.
A Healthy Raid
- Starts with a shared understanding of the client’s problem and the desired outcome.
- Names the party, responsibilities, scope, milestones, communication spaces, and payment split.
- Keeps Raids channels for internal coordination and Camps for client-shared communication.
- Uses escrow when it reduces risk for the engagement. Smart Invoice is available, but it is not mandatory for every Raid.
- Communicates progress and risks early, with no surprises for the party or client.
- Closes with accepted deliverables, final payment, a retrospective, and durable notes or a case study when appropriate.
Follow the shared Raid Lifecycle from initial capture through completion. Not every lead becomes a Raid, and not every opportunity needs a Discord channel.
Finding Work
Client submissions, opportunity triage, and delivery operations live in the Agency area of Discord. The CRM is the source of truth for leads, opportunities, owners, and next actions. Cohort graduates / apprentices may receive access to selected spaces such as Who Is Available. Follow the live channel instructions and contact the responsible Cleric when your skills fit an opportunity.
