Discord Onboarding
Discord and Portal are the first two doors into RaidGuild. You can complete them in either order.
1. Create Your Portal Profile
Visit Portal, create a profile, and add enough context for other builders to understand your craft and interests. Portal is also the source of truth for cohort interest, sessions, and dates.
2. Join and Verify in Discord
Accept the RaidGuild Discord invite and complete the verification steps shown when you arrive. Verification keeps the server usable and unlocks the public spaces available to you.
3. Start at Castle Walls
Castle Walls contains the current arrival instructions and next steps. Follow the channel prompts there rather than relying on a hardcoded channel name in this handbook—the server can change faster than this page.
When prompted, introduce yourself with:
- what you build or practice;
- what brought you to RaidGuild;
- what you hope to learn or contribute; and
- a link to your Portal profile or relevant work.
4. Find the Live Calendar
Browse sessions in Portal. Portal is the primary calendar for public and member-only sessions; Discord events may mirror selected gatherings.
5. Sync Your Access
Guild.XYZ, Discord moderation, and Hats-based workflows help synchronize roles and channel access. If your cohort, apprentice, steward, or member access looks wrong, follow the current support instructions in Castle Walls or ask a moderator in the space identified there.
Before publishing this proposal, confirm the exact introduction and help channels in the live server. This draft intentionally avoids naming #tavern, #help, or @Tavern Keeper without that check.
